I was never considered fat before. When I was a freshman and sophomore in high school, I was actually under weight. When I quit soccer, the weight began to poor on. Now heading to college, I need to lose weight and feel good again.

I'm 6' even.
You really want to be 150 lbs? I feel like I'd be skin and bones at 150... I hope you aren't basing that weight off of US Height and Weight standards for adults. Those are not right at all.
Of course, I can account for how wide you are. I'm pretty broad shouldered, so 185 lbs sits kinda nice on me. I'd like to be at least 5-10 lbs below that though.
If you think 150 is reasonable and manageable, go for it. But don't just look to lose weight, look to add muscle too. You could be really happy at 170 with a good deal of muscle instead of 150 w/o.
Just my 2 cents though.
